  • Regular religious services - Meeting on consistent schedule

Supporting Criteria

  • Definite ecclesiastical government (leadership structure)
  • Formal code of doctrine and discipline
  • Distinct religious history (for established denominations)
  • Ordained ministers (formal ordination - not required initially)
  • Literature of its own (the Bible counts; also any materials you create)
  • Established places of worship (consistent meeting location)
  • Sunday schools or religious instruction
  • Schools for preparing ministers (not typically applicable to small churches)
